Two women have been rushed to hospital after a telegraph pole fell on them in the car park of a busy train station on Thursday afternoon.
Officers from South Wales Police rushed to the scene shortly before 1pm on Thursday, while an air ambulance was also reportedly at the scene after the pole fell on the women near the car park of Pontyclun railway station.
Both women were taken to University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff where they are continuing to receive medical treatment for their injuries, a spokesperson for South Wales Police confirmed in a statement.
They said: “South Wales Police was called at 12.50pm this afternoon (Thursday, June 18) to the car park for Pontyclun train station to reports of two women trapped underneath a telegraph pole.
“The women have been taken to University Hospital of Wales where they continue to receive medical treatment.”
