Heather Dob, executive director of The Hampshire Clinic, said: “Many private hospitals are exclusively adult focused, so by launching a dedicated paediatric service we have a unique opportunity to widen our patient demographic and enhance the support we provide to our local community.
“We hope to provide patients and their families with access to same day appointments in a comfortable setting.”
Paediatric consultants have joined the hospital to support the expanded services.
While the initial focus will be on outpatient care, the hospital aims to introduce inpatient and surgical services by early 2027.
The private GP services will offer appointments most days of the week and include a rapid response team.
Patients can access services through private medical insurance or self-funding.
With demand for NHS paediatric services continuing to grow the senior management team at The Hampshire Clinic believe the launch of a dedicated children and young people’s service at the hospital will provide additional support locally.
