A 36-year-old man has been arrested and four people taken to hospital after a series of incidents across West Edinburgh, police said.
Traffic was diverted after an incident on Leith Walk, with a cordon around Great Junction Street and Duke Street, on Friday, June 19.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said in a post on Facebook in the early hours of Saturday: “A 36-year old man has been arrested following a series of incidents at a number of locations across the West of Edinburgh, and Leith, during the evening of Friday, 19 June, 2026.”
“Four people were injured and taken to hospital for treatment.”
“We believe there to be no further risk to the public at this time,” the spokesperson said.
Police said that enquiries are ongoing.
A topless man was caught on a video which has been shared online in which he appears to be marching along the street with a blade. The statement did not confirm whether it was the topless man that was arrested.

A clip uploaded to TikTok shows several marked police SUVs and cars as well as ambulances on scene with concerned passers-by watching from behind police tape.
A black vehicle can also be seen within the cordon with the driver side door wide open with officers appearing to be searching it.
A Lothian bus update informed passengers: “Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Leith Walk and Duke Street and are instead diverted via London Road and Easter Road in both directions until further notice.”
One eye witness told Edinburgh Live: “Something major is happening on Leith Walk, it is all taped off with loads of police and ambulances.”

Meanwhile, Edinburgh airport was evacuated on Friday night with hundreds of passengers unable to get into the building after a ‘potentially suspicious package’ was identified.
Police Scotland confirmed that Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) is in attendance a the airport.
Passengers have were unable to disembark flights that landed at Edinburgh Airport.
Some passengers have taken to social media and said they have been waiting on the tarmac for over an hour after landing.
It is unclear whether the incidents are connected.
