Joy Behar, co-host of “The View,” told Vice President JD Vance he should run for president because he has “a good vibe” during the commercial break of Tuesday’s episode, the executive producer of the show revealed.
Behar, a well-known Democrat, had overall positive things to say about the vice president, who stopped by “The View” Tuesday to promote a new memoir about his Catholic faith.
“You told him during the break he should run for president because he has a good vibe,” Brian Teta, the executive producer of the talk show, said on his podcast “Behind the Table.”
Behar clarified, “For a Republican, mind you.”
Though Behar said she would not vote for Vance, she contended that she believes Vance would be “a kinder person” as commander-in-chief than President Donald Trump – citing the vice president’s humble beginnings.

Vance’s appearance on the show caught the attention of some because the second Trump administration has taken a more hostile attitude toward liberal-leaning news outlets and television shows.
The vice president even joked about ‘The View’s’ political leanings, starting the hour with, “This is a show of MAGA Republicans, right? That’s what my media team told me.”
Though the vice president joined the show to promote his new memoir, the co-hosts, including Behar, lobbed questions about the administration’s policies at Vance.
Among the questions, they asked why Trump referred to Democrats’ messaging on affordability as “a hoax,” why the administration has erased Black history from public spaces, whether the policies align with Christian values, the release of the Epstein files, the president’s approach to immigration and more.

Vance navigated questions as he faced criticisms from the hosts, deflecting some while also promoting the administration’s wins on immigration.
Behar said she also asked Vance during the commercial break why he chose to refer to Trump as “America’s Hitler” years ago. However, the vice president did not get an opportunity to answer because they ran out of time, she told Teta.
“Truthfully, I said to you in the beginning of this conversation, I don’t think he’s a bad guy,” Behar said Tuesday.
