Under fantastic golfing conditions, play started in the main championship event at 9.30am.

This final was contested by Brian Moore, a previous three-time winner of the event, and Andy McDonald, a first-time finalist.

The morning’s round was a closely contested battle with the match swinging one way and then the other.

After some superb golf in the first round, it was honours even at lunch.

In the afternoon, Andy played the better golf and started to ease away from Brian for his first championship title.

The Bob Gunn Trophy is a handicap competition for division two players.
