Manchester United could be set for a busy summer transfer window and one World Cup star has caught the eye during the tournament so far

Manchester United have been sent a clear message by one of their reported transfer targets at this summer’s World Cup. Johan Manzambi is currently starring for Switzerland at the tournament in the United States, and has been linked with a move to Old Trafford during this summer’s transfer window.
The 20-year-old, who typically plays in an advanced midfield role, started on the right wing for his country in their 2-1 win over Canada in their Group B finale in Vancouver on Wednesday, and certainly caught the eye with his performance.
Manzambi found the back of the net in the second half to double Switzerland’s lead in the fixture, which will only further fuel the speculation that a move could happen this summer.

In fact, the strike in Canada was his third of the tournament so far, and the forward will have at least one more opportunity to add to his tally when Switzerland compete in the knockout stages.
The forward, who currently plays at Freiburg in the Bundesliga, is reported to be valued at around £43million this summer, and his latest performance at the World Cup will make it almost impossible for United not to consider bringing him to Old Trafford.
United have been linked with signing a player who can operate as an advanced midfield or as a forward throughout the summer, with West Ham star Mateus Fernandes also being frequently credited as a target.
But the performances of Manzambi at this World Cup cannot be ignored. And it seems that United fans have recognised the talent that the 20-year-old has at his disposal.
One fan wrote on social media: “Bring Johan Manzambi to Manchester United!” While another fan had more confidence that a move could happen, which read: “Johan Manzambi , welcome to Manchester United.”
It’s not just fans who have noticed the impact that Manzambi has made at the World Cup, with Bayern Munich legend Thomas Muller making his feelings clear.
The former Germany international explained why he wants Bayern to make a move for Manzambi this summer.

“He’s a good player overall. We’ve had him on our list for a while now,” Muller stated on MagentaTV. “For me, he’s someone, and now we can make a headline that FC Bayern should also consider.
“You can sense his flexibility. You can also sense his carefree attitude. At the same time, you can already see a certain maturity in his actions, in his decision-making, his work ethic.”
It remains to be seen if Manzambi is a genuine target for United this summer, but the World Cup means there are now no more secrets in football.

With three goals across the group stages, United may have to realise that other clubs may take notice and try to sign the Switzerland international.
Regardless, Manzambi’s performances at the World Cup will certainly give United a decision to make, particularly if Bayern do listen to Muller’s comments and consider a move for the Freiburg star.
