A section of the Metro was suspended due to a Bridge Strike in the Howdon area of North Tyneside. There were no trains on the yellow line between North Shields and Wallsend in both directions for around one hour.
A bridge strike is an incident where a vehicle collides with a bridge. Nexus, who operate the Metro, arranged alternative travel in the affected areas.
