We’ve been hearing about GameSir’s G7 Pro Xbox controller for quite a while now – it had a lot of anticipation leading up to launch – and it’s now officially available at multiple retailers including Amazon and GameSir itself.
In our post about it back in June, we highlighted all of its key features (you can get another look below):
Tri-mode connectivity – Wired for Xbox, Wireless for PC, and Bluetooth for Android: The G7 Pro supports seamless connectivity across Xbox, PC, and Android. Effortlessly switch between modes using the convenient physical mode switch. Choose from Wired for Xbox; 2.4G & Wired for PC; Bluetooth for Android. * For wired connection, the detachable cable retainer ensures a stable and secure connection.

When we talked about it last time though, there weren’t any reviews to speak of – so let’s see what the critics are saying about GameSir’s G7 Pro controller so far! Here are some of the reviews we’ve found from across the web:
“The GameSir G7 Pro is a fantastic controller, especially for just $80. You’re getting an excellent core gaming experience bolstered by more features than you can shake a stick at, and wireless connectivity with ALMOST everything — but Xbox isn’t included, and getting that feature will likely require a new, more expensive version of this controller down the line.”
“The GameSir G7 Pro is a wonderful controller for Android, PC, and Xbox. While the price tag is a little hefty, its ergonomic, lightweight design makes it an excellent choice for serious gamers. Further, the controls proved to be responsive. Even after hours of play, I had no issues with buttons getting stuck, thumbs flying off the joysticks, or stick drift. There are definitely cheaper options available that’ll still get the job done, such as the PXN P5. If, however, you prefer a sleek, sophisticated controller that you can use with your Xbox as well as your phone, you’ll definitely want to give the G7 Pro more than a passing glance.”
“I’m a big fan of the GameSir G7 Pro. It offers a lot of things that are seldom seen in officially licensed Xbox controllers at this price point. For that reason, I think it’s going to find a popular place in the market. While I don’t expect the same kind of standards from a GameSir pro controller as the $200 products from Razer and Nacon, I’d expect something with “pro” in the title to reach a little further than GameSir has here.”
“Using the GameSir G7 Pro is seamless, honestly, it works just as well as any other controller I’ve tried out. The app allows you to set up the customisable buttons easily, and it allows for a variety of other options, such as altering the vibrations and gyroscope. The Charging Station sits the controller on perfectly, which is good because it isn’t magnetic. The mode switch allows you to swap devices quickly, and I would definitely recommend this if you’re after a wireless controller for PC or Android, or a wired controller for Xbox Series X|S.”
“The G7 Pro is a natural evolution for GameSir, with pitch-perfect precise controls and a familiar feel. It can also connect to Xbox, but only with a cable, which makes its elevated $80 price point feel a little moot.”
Now, as you can see, the reviews are generally very good for the GameSir G7 Pro so far, although one criticism that gets brought up a few times is that it’s a wired-only controller for Xbox – and this is something that’s being addressed.
As we mentioned a couple of months ago, a wireless version of the G7 Pro for Xbox will be released for Xbox, with pre-orders seemingly set to begin very soon. You’ll probably have to pay a bit more for it, but if the difference between wired and wireless means a lot to you, that might be worth waiting for.
Here’s some of the latest information about that version, courtesy of Sensitive_Minimum_52 on Reddit:
“Things we know:
Wireless on Xbox (is it connected through dongle or bluetooth we are yet to know)
Other Specs will be identical to the Wired Version [AL]
Price should be > $100. I am expecting it to be $120.
Pre-Orders will be started as early as August.
Has a Wuchang Edition as seen in the video but whether it will have a global release is something we yet to know.”

We’ll obviously keep an eye out for more news on the wireless version, but in the meantime, if you’re interested in picking up the standard GameSir G7 Pro with wired-only functionality on Xbox, you’ll find links for it on Amazon below.
