During the festival season the city is home to one of the largest and oldest Christmas markets in Germany, known as the Christkindlesmarkt. Visitors can sample traditional German cuisine including Bratwurst and Gluhwein.

The capital of Austria, Vienna is famous for its cafe culture, classical music and stunning places. Among its main attractions are the magnificent Schonbrunn Palace and the Hofburg Palace, home to the Spanish Riding School.

The city is home to not just one but numerous Christmas markets, the largest being the Rathausplatz Christkindlmarkt, set against the backdrop of the town hall. Others can be found at Schonbrunn Palace, Belvedere Palace, Spittelberg and more.

Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said: “We’re delighted to be putting these new routes to Nuremberg and Vienna on sale from Manchester Airport for flights and holidays, further expanding the choice available to our customers in the North West.

“Both destinations offer something truly special, particularly during the winter season, whether customers are looking to experience traditional Christmas markets or explore some of Europe’s most historic cities. We’re confident these routes will prove popular with customers seeking great value fares and to travel with ease.”

Flights are on sale from today with fares from £31.99. easyJet holidays is also offering package holidays to both Nuremberg and Vienna, including return flights and hotel accommodation, with a range of options available.

Stephen Turner, Chief Commercial Officer at Manchester Airport, said: “We’re proud to connect the people of the North with more destinations than anyone else, so it’s great to see easyJet adding two more destinations to its extensive route network here, including Nuremberg – which will be a brand new destination for travellers from Manchester.

“It’s famous for its Bavarian culture and cuisine, stunning medieval architecture and its classical music scene, making it a great option for a relaxed city break, and Vienna offers a similarly sophisticated experience. We’re sure both routes will prove highly popular.”
