The 23-year-old could be a potential target later in the summer if City opt to shuffle their keeper stocks behind first choice Vladan Kovacevic.

Sky Italia report on Saturday evening both Norwich and Scottish Premiership Rangers are interested, along with a number of clubs in Italy, including Avellino.

City third choice Louie Moulden has been touted with newly-promoted Football League duo, York and Rochdale, in the early part of this summer, with City open to first team minutes for Moulden.

The former Crystal Palace understudy did not make a senior appearance for Norwich last season, after signing a two-year deal in the summer of 2025.

Norwich also have youngsters Caleb Ansen and Vicente Reyes on the books behind second choice Daniel Grimshaw.

Desplanches spent the first part of last season on loan at Pescara in Serie B but a hamstring injury in late February ruled him out of the run in for a club who finished bottom of the table.

The 23-year-old could reportedly set to be loaned out again by the ‘Rosanero’ for the 2026/27 in a bid to gain further first team experience.

Kovacevic only missed one Championship game in his debut campaign for the Canaries, with Grimshaw deputising for the 3-0 away win at Oxford in February after he was sidelined due to a muscle injury.

The 28-year-old finished his first tour in England on eight clean sheets, with head coach Philippe Clement hailing his improvement under the guidance of keeper coaches Declan Rudd and Ricardo Pereira.

“Clearly, in several ways, and I don’t want to go too much in detail, because other teams are also listening, and if I say things we need to work on, they’re going to put attention to that,” he said.

“But I think everybody who’s been following Vlad from the beginning of the season until now sees clearly the evolution, and all praise, also to (coaches) Declan and Ricardo together to guide that story and to make it better and better.

“So that’s working really good. Same with Grimmy, He improved a lot. Same with Louie (Moulden), same with Vinnie (Reyes). The four goalkeepers are taking good steps, and you see them developing.

“I see every day the training that they’re doing with them, and that’s really good quality, the way they work with the goalkeepers, and the response of the goalkeepers is also really good.”

City’s immediate transfer focus remains on targeting a left back to provide competition for Lucien Mahovo and Ben Chrisene.

The Canaries have completed three deals in the first two weeks of the summer window, with Andre Brooks signed from Sheffield United for an initial £8m, along with a permanent deal for former loanee Sam Field and Brazilian youngster Bruno Alves.
