The incident took place on Sillwood Road, Brighton, just before 6pm on June 27.

A force spokesman said: “We responded to a report that a man was threatening members of the public with a knife in Sillwood Road, Brighton, on Saturday evening.
“Two members of the public were assaulted during the incident, which was reported just before 6pm.
“One of the men assaulted was treated in hospital and released, for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
“The man with the knife, who lives locally, was swiftly tackled to the ground by members of the public and a knife was seized.
“A 33-year-old local man has been arrested for assault occasioning grievous bodily harm with intent and he is in custody.”
Detective Inspector Jen Pietersen added: “This was a distressing incident for those in the vicinity.
“Neighbourhood policing officers will be providing visible patrols in the area and if anyone has any concerns they should speak with them.”

He was reportedly tackled to the ground by members of the public.
A knife was seized.
