On Sunday afternoon, Mars moves into Gemini for the next six weeks. With the planet of action in this adaptable (but occasionally scatter-brained) sign, it might not be the ideal time to single-mindedly chase one goal. Having a number of projects in the works will help prevent you from getting bored. On Monday afternoon, Mercury retrograde begins, moving backward through Cancer until late July. There’s no need to stress about it, just slow down and do your best to listen more than you talk. Then Monday evening, the Capricorn full moon makes you deeply, perhaps uncomfortably, aware of your own limits — but it could also inspire you to find ways to work with them, rather than simply pretending they don’t exist. Finally, in the small hours of Tuesday morning, Jupiter leaves Cancer and enters Leo, where it’ll stay until next summer. Now is the time to express yourself boldly and embrace the spotlight. The more you use your creativity, the better your life will get.
It can sometimes be tempting to downplay your ambitions. It feels embarrassing to want too much, and you don’t want to come across as a striver. You’d rather seem fun and carefree, like the sort of person who doesn’t have to try too hard. This week, though, you’re probably better off being honest — with yourself and the people around you — about how seriously you take your goals. If you pretend not to care, others won’t be particularly motivated to help, but if you admit that your goals matter to you, you’ll be surprised by how much support comes your way.
It’s hard for you to believe in yourself when you don’t have hard evidence that you “deserve” it. Without tangible successes to point to, it seems unwise to put too much faith in your own abilities, so you try to stay cautious and avoid putting yourself out there. Eventually, though, if you want to get anywhere, you’ll have to take a leap. If there’s something you’ve been too scared to try, this week might be the time to go for it: You’ll never know what you’re capable of until you actually give it a shot.
In theory, you understand that other people’s inner lives are every bit as vibrant and real as your own, but in practice, it can be easy to forget, to try to arrange your life entirely according to your own needs and preferences, and to disregard the fact that others might want something different. This week, if the people in your life have been feeling unfulfilled or ignored, they might finally make their displeasure clear. Try not to react defensively — even if they’re being unreasonable, it costs you nothing to listen.
You’re a good listener and you give good advice, so when your friends are going through it, they often turn to you. For the most part, you’re happy to support them; it feels good to know that they trust you, and it’s rewarding to help. But this can make you reluctant to lean on your friends when you’re the one in need of care — you know how much your friends are dealing with already, and you don’t want to be a burden. This week, though, just ask for the support you need. People will be glad to be able to repay your kindness.
There’s so much in life that’s entirely outside of your control that it’s easy to forget all the things that you do, in fact, have the power to change. If something is bothering you this week, don’t just assume that your only option is to learn to live with it. If you approach your problems with an attitude of confidence and curiosity, you’re likely to land on all kinds of small, tangible actions you can take that’ll make your life easier and more pleasant.
Sometimes, the best way to fix your problems is to rely on the tried and true solutions: If something consistently works for other people, chances are good that it’ll work for you, too. But in some cases, it doesn’t make sense to follow in others’ footsteps. Your problems are unique to you, so the solutions will have to be, too. Don’t be afraid to lean on your own creativity right now. The conventional way of doing things isn’t always the best way.
When you get too focused on appearances, on seeming happy and successful, it’s easy to forget about how you actually feel about your life. You might impress everyone around you, but still feel vaguely unfulfilled; you might say all the right things, but still have the sense that something is a little off. This week, try to turn the focus back to your inner world. If you’re unhappy, no amount of external validation will make you feel better, so try to put everyone else’s opinions out of your mind, at least for now.
Taking care of the items on your to-do list isn’t typically all that exciting — no matter how many tasks you cross off, more just seem to arrive in their place. This week, though, focusing on concrete, everyday tasks could be surprisingly rewarding. Especially if you’ve been worried about the big picture, lately — about issues far beyond your own sphere of influence — spending time on the little things, where your efforts will bring tangible results, will make everything else feel more manageable.
It can be embarrassing when you’re unable to manage situations that others seem to manage with ease. You look around you and everyone else seems fine; you feel like you “should” be stronger and more successful, and you can’t understand why you struggle so much. This week, try to remember that just because others make life look effortless, that doesn’t necessarily reflect their inner experiences. Everyone has their struggles; there’s no need to waste extra energy shaming yourself over yours.
You understand that you don’t get to do exactly what you want, exactly when you want. Sharing the world with other people means playing by their rules some of the time; if you want strong and mutually supportive relationships, you don’t get to dictate the terms. This week, though, it’s time to make sure you’re getting what you need. Suppressing your own desires won’t make anyone happy — not you, but not the people around you, either. The people who love you want you to be fulfilled, too, so stop being self-sacrificing and start asking for what you really want.
When you’re busy with practical matters, it’s easy enough to avoid dealing with your inconvenient emotions. There’s so much on your mind already that you hardly have the mental energy even to notice your own feelings. This week, though, that could change. Maybe the turmoil of your life will finally calm down, or maybe your emotions will become so strong that you can’t deny them any longer. Either way, carving out some alone time, so that you can truly process how you’re feeling, is one of the best things you can do for yourself right now.
It’s easy to feel ignored sometimes. You work hard to support the people around you, to pick up everyone else’s slack, but your effort often seems to go unnoticed. This week, though, you’ll likely be reassured that you’re far from invisible: Suddenly everyone you’ve ever met seems to be showing up in need of your time, love, and attention. It could get a bit overwhelming, so remind yourself that you don’t need to be everything to everyone. You’re only one person, and you can only give so much.
