Top, l-r: Peter Stempczyk, Alice Green, John McAdam; Bottom, l-r: Joe Stewart, Diane Cuthbertson, Michael Armstrong
Tributes to a dearly beloved son and twin brother are among those being paid in The Chronicle deaths and funeral announcements this week.
Announcing the passing of a loved one in local news media is a long standing tradition and we are proud of the trust placed in us to make these important announcements. Every notice published to our newspaper and news site also appears on funeral-notices.co.uk – the UK’s number one site for death notices and memoriams.
Every notice remains online forever providing friends and families with a lifelong tribute to their loved one, a safe place online to share memories, add tributes, photographs and make donations in memory. Each week we pay tribute to the loved ones remembered in our area with a funeral notice and online tribute page.
To read the latest announcements and add tributes to those from our area who have passed away, or to create a funeral notice yourself, click here. Alternatively, you can create a notice by calling our helpful team on 01482 908084. Here are a selection of notices published earlier this week.

You gave us many things in life gifts both great and small, But most of all you gave us love the greatest gift of all. The hardest thing in life to bear is when you’re feeling lonely and shed a silent tear, when you feel all around has deserted you and no one cares, you really need your mam but she’s not there. So dearly loved, so deeply missed. Love always. Carol x Craig x Joanne x Alastair x
(Twan) Thinking of our nephew/cousin in Heaven, 10 years ago you were taken from us, our hearts will be forever broken, love and miss you forever. From your heartbroken uncle Den, auntie Florence and family, xxx
(Ted) A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who on this day left without knowing the love, laughter and memories he gave or the life he had in his family. We still remember and we still miss you. From your loving family, Terry, granddaughters Samantha and Ashleigh, great grandchildren Connor and Shauna. xx
(Wandless) Birtley, late of Killingworth In loving memory of Margaret, dearly loved wife of the late Stan, much loved aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt and sister-in-law. Birthday Memoriams
(Washington) Precious birthday memories of my loving wife Mary. No cards, gifts or kisses to give only our love as long as we live. Put your arms around her Lord and give her special care, because she was my wife and loved beyond compare.
