An artist who sought refuge here when war broke out is holding an exhibition of photographs next month.
After moving to Stamford from Ukraine, Oleksii Klitovchencko noticed the similarities between the local rural landscape here and back home.

He decided to capture these scenes with his camera, the results of which have led to his exhibition, Where Light Settles.
It will be displayed at Stamford cafe, the Blonde Beet, in St Paul’s Street, throughout July.
There will also be a preview evening on Thursday (July 2) from 7pm. Tickets cost £20, which includes a drink on arrival, live music and a talk from the artist and are available from www.blondebeet.co.uk/shop

Prints and postcards of Oleksii’s photos will be available to buy, with proceeds going to Ukrainian charities.
