Titled Paintings from Postcards, the exhibition explores Mary’s journey from her Nativity to her Coronation as Queen of Heaven.

Ms McGlynn’s work draws on Giotto’s frescoes and pre-Renaissance Italian art, blending historical and contemporary elements through recurring motifs including bowls, bread, veils, thread, and the deep blue traditionally associated with the Virgin.

A University of Dundee fine art graduate, Ms McGlynn has developed a distinct visual style and previously completed a residency at the Leith School of Art.

She was awarded the RSA John Kinross Scholarship, which enabled her to study in Florence and deepen her exploration of art historical techniques and symbolism.

Her exhibition is part of the hotel’s ongoing programme showcasing Scottish talent, following the earlier display of Ayrshire artist Lewi Quinn’s No Longer Strangers collection.

The exhibition runs until July 19 and complements the hotel’s Art of Afternoon Tea experience, priced at £49 per person.

Served in The Salon Bar from Wednesday to Sunday and at iasg Restaurant on Mondays and Tuesdays, the afternoon tea menu features cards designed by Ms McGlynn herself.

Artwork by both Ms McGlynn and Mr Quinn is available for purchase through the hotel reception.

“As an artist from Paisley, it’s incredibly rewarding to have the opportunity to exhibit my work in one of Glasgow’s most iconic hotels, and I’m excited to share these pieces within such a beautiful and inspiring setting.

“The hotel’s commitment to showcasing Scottish artists creates a unique space to connect with both local visitors and guests from further afield, and The Salon provides a wonderful backdrop for my collection.”
