A new exhibition will be on display at a gallery, starting the same day as its birthday party.
GroundWork Gallery is reopening to the public on Wednesday, July 8, with Julie Brook’s Women and the Art of the Land exhibition, also featuring powerful work by the NetWork artists, Harriet Hellman and Lotte Scott.
This is the first of the gallery’s tenth birthday celebrations.

The exhibition aims to consider the role of female artists who create art with the Earth and its elements, often sculpting the landscape directly.
Through different media that reflect on the work in film, drawing and sculpture, the gallery aims to demonstrate some powerful and poetic approaches taken by women.
The exhibition highlights not just the “subtle embodiment” in their work but its “latent strength”, which GroundWork believes makes women’s contributions to this field unique.
Fossilheads will be performing at the party
On July 8, from 6pm-11pm, GroundWork Gallery is hosting a party to celebrate its birthday.
There will be food and drinks, as well as the Fossilheads band performing live music.
Tickets are £25 each or £40 for two, and can be booked by visiting https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/groundwork-gallery-10th-birthday-party-tickets-1990779093860.
