If you’ve been on the fence about Housemarque’s latest PS5 game, Saros, now’s your opportunity to give it a shot.
Those with an active PS Plus Premium membership can sample the game at no extra cost as part of their subscription with a newly-introduced game trial.
You’ll get to play the full game for a total of two and a half hours, which is certainly enough to get a feel for the hectic shooter and its compelling gameplay systems.
As with all PS Plus Premium game trials, your progress and Trophies carry over if you choose to buy the game afterwards.
Saros is a roguelite third-person shooter, with fast-paced action, permanent upgrades, and an intriguing sci-fi story.
I view it as a sort of companion piece to Returnal, which shares a good lot of DNA with Saros, but the latter game is much more flexible in terms of difficulty.
I really love it, awarding it a 9/10 in Push Square’s review. It feels wonderful to play, and the gradual permanent progression you make is very satisfying. It’s absolutely worth a go if you’re a Premium member.
Since its launch earlier this year, the game has been updated with Photo mode and additional Trophies. It seems likely it’ll get some form of DLC down the line, though nothing is confirmed yet.
