Following her victory, Hryniewiecka-Irwin met with Lough Erne Golf Club Lady Captain Roisin Henry, where she reflected on her week at the championship and praised the quality of the course.
She singled out the iconic par-three 10th hole, “Emerald Isle,” as one of the most spectacular holes she has played, describing it as one of the most beautiful in golf.
Surrounded by the waters of Lough Erne, the hole is regarded as one of the signature features of the Faldo Course and proved to be a highlight of the championship.
Lady Captain Roisin Henry congratulated Hryniewiecka-Irwin on her historic success and thanked everyone involved in delivering a successful inaugural championship.
She also welcomed the positive feedback from competitors, which highlighted both the quality of the course and the hospitality shown throughout the event.
Hryniewiecka-Irwin will now continue a busy summer schedule, competing in tournaments across Ireland and England before returning to Texas to resume her university studies.
Lough Erne Golf Club is also looking ahead to two of the highlights of its own golfing calendar next month.
Men’s Captain Peter Stuart will host his Captain’s Day on Saturday, August 9, while Lady Captain Roisin Henry’s Lady Captain’s Day will take place on Saturday, August 22, with both events expected to attract strong entries from members and visitors alike.
The successful staging of the inaugural North of Ireland Women’s Amateur Open Championships is expected to further enhance Lough Erne Resort’s reputation as a venue capable of hosting major amateur championships and adds another significant event to the county’s sporting calendar.
