There will be a special charity screening of the immersive David Hockney art show at the Lightroom in King’s Cross this week – on what would have been the artist’s 89th birthday.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Royal Drawing School, a charity which Hockney supported.

Bigger & Closer (not smaller & further away) gives audiences a unique opportunity to travel on a personal journey with Hockney through his art and see the world through his eyes. In a cycle of six themed chapters, alongside a musical score by Nico Muhly, Hockney reveals his process to us.

The special showings will take place on Thursday 9th July with shows on the hour from 7pm to 10pm. Tickets are £25 with proceeds going to the Royal Drawing School.

Tickets are available here.
