A Coronation Street star has given a hint at what fans can expect from Betsy Swain’s upcoming storyline after the teen’s hospital dash was confirmed in new spoilers.
Spoilers for next week’s episodes of the ITV soap have revealed that the teen will be left fighting for her life – and the finger of blame will be quickly pointed at her love interest, Dylan Wilson.
As Corrie fans know, after being reminded of the horrific death of her boyfriend, Mason Radclife, Betsy emotionally spoke to Dylan about her plans to move forward, before revealing to her best mate, Lauren Bolton, that she had been offered a place at a fashion college in London.

She ended up breaking the news to Dylan, who then advised her to let her mum, Lisa, and her stepmother, Carla Connor-Swain, in on the move. Eventually, Betsy built up the courage to announce the news, and while Carla was delighted for her Underworld protégé, Lisa was more apprehensive.
However, it now appears that Betsy’s plans to leave Weatherfield will be put on hold. As next week gets underway, in Weatherfield after a disastrous attempt at cooking breakfast for Dylan, Betsy asks him for some cooking lessons. Dylan shows Betsy how to make Bolognese and assures her that they’ll make their long-distance relationship work, leaving her smiling as they hug.
But somehow, disaster strikes, and an ambulance pulls away from No.6 with its siren blaring. At the hospital, Ryan Connor explains to Carla how he returned home to find Betsy unconscious on the kitchen floor.
At Betsy’s bedside, a nurse explains to a tearful Lisa that they are taking Betsy for an MRI Scan. Soon, Dylan arrives to see Betsy, but comes running out of the room and tells Lisa and Carla that she seems to be having some kind of fit. Lisa and Carla are then left to watch in horror as the doctor tends to Betsy.

As the week unfolds, an upset Betsy begs Lisa not to blame Dylan for what happened. Meanwhile, when Sean Tully suggests to Dylan that they go together to visit Betsy, Dylan shuts the conversation down, leaving Sean suspicious.
Later in the cafe, Sean is shocked when a furious Lisa turns on Dylan and blames him for Betsy’s collapse. And it’s not long before Lisa calls at the station and tells the desk sergeant she’d like to report a crime.
Corrie fans have already been quick to share their theories as to what may be wrong with Betsy, and now, Sydney Martin’s performance has already been praised by her friend and co-star.

Cait Fitton, who plays Weatherfield’s Lauren Bolton, shared a preview for what’s ahead on the show to her Instagram Story. The image showed Sydney, as Betsy, surrounded by her loved ones, Ryan, Lisa and Carla – played by Ryan Prescott, Vicky Myers and Alison King.
Alongside the post, Cait wrote: “You guys are not ready for @sydneymartin_’s performance. [Star emoji] girl [heart emoji]. Proud bestie moment.” Sydney then reshared the support and alongside two emojis of faces holding back tears, she wrote: “Luckiest girl with the people around me.”
