A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died at a house in south Manchester on Wednesday morning (July 8).
Officers from Greater Manchester Police, along with paramedics, were called to the scene on Ivylea Road in Burnage following reports of an assault at a house at around 8am.
The victim, a woman in her 60s was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by responders. A murder investigation was launched by detectives and remains ongoing.

On Wednesday evening, a police car was pictured along the residential street. A witness said there was a major police presence at a house throughout the day amid investigations.
A teenager, a boy aged 16, remains in custody to be questioned in relation to the incident. The M.E.N understands the victim was related to the suspect.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said in a statement: “Officers responded to reports of an assault at an address on Ivylea Road, Burnage at around 8am today (08/07/26).
“One woman aged in her 60s sadly died at the scene and a boy, aged 16, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody for questioning. “
