Dorset-based recycled plastics company Brothers Make has teamed up with global ocean clean-up organisation 4ocean to transform plastic waste into bracelet beads.
Brothers Make, founded by brothers Matt and Jonny Browning, produced 200,000 recycled plastic beads for 4ocean’s bracelet collection using waste items such as bottle caps, DVD cases, and shampoo bottles.
Jonny Browning, co-founder of Brothers Make, said: “It’s easy to think of plastic waste as something with no value, but projects like this show the opposite.

“The material we’re using would otherwise have been discarded, yet it’s now part of a product helping fund clean-up efforts around the world.”

Since 2017, Florida-based 4ocean has removed more than 50 million pounds of plastic and trash through its global clean-up operations.
Scott Dustin, head of e-commerce at 4ocean, said: “At 4ocean, we believe the biggest environmental challenges won’t be solved by one organisation alone.
“They’ll be solved by like-minded organisations bringing different strengths to the same mission.
“Brothers Make embodies that mindset.”
