Liam Bowditch held his Captain’s Day at the Barnoldswick-based club in glorious sunshine, with over 80 competitors taking part.
The winner with 39 Stableford points was Kevin Honeyman, whose wife Lesley Honeyman won Sue Hirons’ Lady Captain’s Day held two weeks prior, also with 39 Stableford points.
Ghyll Golf Club, established in 1907, has never had a husband and wife winning their respective Captain’s Day honours.

And earlier in June, on the newly-redesigned layout at Ghyll, Brandon Cocker shot a course record 65 in the Kynaston Trophy, with five birdies and an eagle.
A Ghyll member for 16 years, he has represented the scratch team for a decade.
After his 65, Cocker said: “I never thought I’d ever achieve that score, and I’m still stunned.
“Everything went right for me and it felt so special doing it on the course where I started playing off 54 handicap and learnt so much.
“I am grateful for the support of my family and also members who provided coaching and transport to matches/trips away in the early days.
“I owe so much to Ghyll.”
