Brookside star Philip Olivier tied the knot with his long term partner, Amy Virtue, on board the Royal Daffodil last week. The soap star owns the city landmark and become the first person to get married aboard the boat in a star-studded ceremony on Saturday (July 4).
A post shared on the Daffodil’s official Instagram page has given an insight into the special day as it showed the happy couple against the backdrop of the Liver Building. It said: “Congratulations to our very own Mr & Mrs Olivier! Our first official marriage on board Daffodil, a day to remember! Just good vibes from start to finish.”
Philip’s Brookside co-star, Jennifer Ellison, was in attendance with her husband Rob Tickle. The soap star hailed the special wedding as the “best day”. Sharing snaps from the day, she said: “What a day!

Snaps showed Amy and Philip with their five children ahead of the ceremony. Clips from later in the evening showed the party in full flow as people raised a glass in style on the happy occasion.
Fellow Brookside star, Louis Emerick, was also in attendance as he shared a snap alongside brothers Ryan, Adam and Scott Thomas. Ryan Thomas is best friends with Philip and told the ECHO in an exclusive interview at the Grand National about his memories in the city with the 46-year-old.
Speaking at Aintree Racecourse in April, he said: “For me, I always remember Liverpool as Brookside. My best mate is [Philip Olivier] and I came here with him and we’re having a good time. I was brought up here as a young kid growing up.
“My best friend has got the boat on the docks [the Royal Daffodil]. Liverpool is about the warmth and the culture. This is what Liverpool is about so I love coming here.”

Jennifer spoke about the wedding in an exclusive interview with the ECHO at the gala night for Moulin Rouge this week. She said: “I’ve had the craziest few months, I’ve been promoting G’wed, I’ve had the reunion party, I had Tinhead’s wedding on Saturday which I’m still recovering from.”
Emily is renowned for her role as Emily Shadwick in Brookside and her character was in an onscreen romance with Philip’s Tinhead. She laughed her onscreen counterpart would be fuming to see he had moved on.
The 43-year-old said: “She was fuming! But she turned on the telly the other day and he was in Hollyoaks with my sister [Nikki Shadwick, played by Suzanne Collins] so I was like what’s going on?”
