A 12-year-old boy has been arrested and is in custody to be questioned

A teenage boy suffered serious injuries to his face after he is believed to have been pushed off his bike into a parked vehicle. Emergency services were called to Kirkstone Avenue in St Helens after a 16-year-old boy, who was cycling down the road, was pushed off his bike by a male on an electric scooter.
The teen was then involved in a collision with a parked Vauxhall Corsa. The person on the electric scooter left the scene, Merseyside Police said. The boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his face following the incident.
An investigation is now underway while officers remain at the scene to carry out enquiries. A 12-year-old boy has since been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. He remains in custody and enquiries remain ongoing.
Detective Inspector Ruth Tickle said: “These are the early stages of our investigation as we establish what has taken place.
“I would urge anyone who was in the area of Kirkstone Avenue who witnessed the incident or has CCTV, dashcam or doorbell camera footage to come forward and speak to us.”
