We know that Mark Ruffalo is returning for a new case in Task season 2. And we also now know that there will be a Mare Of Easttown ‘crossover’, too.
Ruffalo will reprise his role as FBI agent Tom Brandis, who leads a brand-new task force as his unit becomes embroiled in conflict with a seasoned Philadelphia DEA team, led by Mahershala Ali (as Eddie Barnes). Additional heavy-hitting additions to the cast include Edgar Ramírez as DEA second-in-command Miguel Contreras, alongside Harry Melling, Adam Nagaitis, and Aminah Nieves.
But it’s the addition of Julianne Nicholson to the cast that has raised eyebrows.
Why? Nicholson played Lori Ross in celebrated crime drama Mare Of Easttown, and she will play Lori Ross in Task.
Why? Both series are from creator and showrunner Brad Ingelsby, and take place in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia.
