Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes and wantaway winger Jadon Sancho are among those to lend their support to Marcus Rashford following his latest update on social media.

Rashford’s time at Old Trafford has been on the verge of ending since December, when it became clear that cracks had grown in his relationship with Ruben Amorim. The winger was loaned to Aston Villa in the January transfer window for the remainder of the season.

In the West Midlands, Rashford rediscovered some of his form which had deserted him in Manchester before injury cut his campaign short. Villa had agreed a £40m option to buy with United but this was not activated.

Since then, Rashford’s focus has been in the gym and trying to get a move to Barcelona over the line. The Catalan club’s sporting director Deco has admitted that his team hold an interest in the United man but no official move has been made.

In the meantime, Rashford has been focusing on himself. Despite being handed an extended break by United, the forward has been back at Carrington working on an individual programme and he has been sharing updates from outside the training ground on social media.

His latest update came on Friday afternoon as he shared a montage of training he has been completing this summer in Manchester and Marbella. The video was uncaptioned and received ‘likes’ from several United players.

Leading the way was Fernandes, who rejected an offer to move elsewhere this summer, and Sancho who has earned a poor reputation with the United fanbase after his digs at previous managers and the club. Current United stars Leny Yoro, Lisandro Martinez, Rasmus Hojlund, Andre Onana, Diogo Dalot and Joshua Zirkzee also reacted to the post too.

MEN Sport understands that United’s plan is to sell Rashford permanently this summer. He, along with Alejandro Garnacho, Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia, have all requested to leave the club.
