ACL injury could keep McGregor out for a year
We don’t know for sure that it was an ACL issue, to be clear, but Joe Rogan on commentary speculated as much – and it was a reasonable suggestion.
Such injuries can take six to 12 months to heal.
That could mean that McGregor can’t even train properly until next July, and not fight until next autumn.

Here’s what he told journalist Ariel Helwani last month:
“Right now I am contracted, and I have both dates. I have both dates for my fights. I have 11 July. When would you think they would put me back in?
“When would you think they would put me back in? April 2027. It’s almost a year later, that’s ridiculous to me. I think, no?
“This is the way the contract was done, I don’t know. You’d have to ask Audie [Attar, manager] on all of that. I’m like: ‘Huh? Just give me the f***ing contract.’ It gets to that stage.”
Will McGregor be fit by then? Will he even fight again, ever?
We don’t know the specifics of the injury yet, but it could be an ACL issue.
