The broadcaster and former host of The Weakest Link, who has lived in the area for around 40 years, confirmed she is leaving her £4 million converted barn near Hatherop.
Ms Robinson, 81, told a national paper: “I am leaving the Cotswolds after 40-odd years.
“A heartbreaking decision.”
She said the move is to be closer to her daughter Emma as she gets older.
Although she still feels “fit,” she said she doesn’t want Emma, her daughter with late Scottish journalist Charles Wilson, to worry about her living far away if she becomes “infirm.”
She said: “I will be 82 in the autumn.
“I’m fit, but aware of how many of my girlfriends are trying to cope with an elderly, infirm mother miles away.”
She also admitted she wouldn’t pass a driving test.
Her new home will be in London.
She said: “I’ve bought a beautiful fourth-floor terrace filled with trees and plants overlooking Hyde Park.
“A small flat is attached.
“Importantly, it is only a few streets away from Emma.”
Ms Robinson also reflected on the changes she has seen in nearby Bibury, describing it as “full of day trippers.”
She spoke about the growing popularity of the Cotswolds among high-profile figures, mentioning Jony Ive, who has bought Ablington Manor, and Marc Newson, who has bought Bibury Court.
Despite her sadness about leaving, Ms Robinson said she is looking forward to making the most of life in London with her daughter.
She said: “I will have to adapt to living – as Emma encouragingly puts it – ‘in one of the most vibrant capitals in the world.’
“We’ve booked visits to the Tate and lined up plays to see.”
