James Dean Fury becomes the latest member of the Fury clan to turn over as a professional boxer.
The 20-year-old amateur standout has signed a long-term promotional agreement with Ben Shalom’s BOXXER, and will make his debut on August 8.

Fury kicks off his career in a super middleweight bout on the undercard of Troy Williamson vs Callum Simpson II at the First Direct Bank Arena in Leeds.
“I’m very grateful for this opportunity,” said Fury.
“I’d like to thank my uncle Peter, BOXXER, Ben Shalom and Mick Hennessy for making this possible.
“My goal is to go all the way. I want to win world titles and become the best fighter I can be.

“I’m excited to start this journey in Leeds on August 8 and put on a good performance for the fans.
“The super middleweight division is full of great fighters, but I believe the best version of me is going to wipe everyone out.”
What did James Dean Fury achieve in the amateurs?
Fury enjoyed a fruitful stint in the unpaid ranks, culminating in three national titles and a Manchester Box Cup.
He will be trained by his uncle Peter Fury and managed by Mick Hennessy.

Fury carries the weight of his family’s name on his back into the ring.
His cousin Tyson Fury is obviously the most successful fighter from the clan, having twice reigned as heavyweight world champion.
However, James Dean also follows in the footsteps of Hughie Fury, Tommy Fury, and his brothers Walter and Phill.
