Lynnsport could get a £1million government grant for a major court upgrade.
West Norfolk Council is in talks with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) for the latest development of covered tennis, padel and multi-use courts.
Deputy leader Cllr Simon Ring has described it as a “game-changer” for the area, as the hub is thought to be the first of its kind in the UK.

It comes after Lynn was identified by the LTA as being an area which lacks community access for these sports.
If approved, a £1million grant would be awarded through the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
Councillors are set to discuss the plans at the Environment and Community Panel on Tuesday, and Cabinet next Thursday before it hits full council.
Cllr Ring said: “This is a collective decision for councillors – but as a Cabinet member I see this prestigious national grant funding as an ace opportunity for our residents.
“Through inclusive, year-round provision, this will support children and young people, older and isolated residents, disabled people and community groups to be more active, connected and engaged.
“Working with the LTA, this will be a game-changer for tennis provision in West Norfolk.
“We have a significant shortage of indoor tennis, padel and covered flexible sports space – but now we can get significant national investment to improve access to affordable physical activity and wellbeing opportunities, particularly for residents living in areas of greatest deprivation.”
The project would see the four current outdoor courts at Lynnsport covered to allow year-round play.
One of the courts would be extended and turned into a multi-activity games area for things like netball and basketball.
Alongside this, three new premium covered padel courts will be constructed.
Cllr Ring added that it could make room for more participation, coaching programmes and well-being initiatives.
“This exciting proposed project is not simply an investment in a high-quality yet affordable leisure facility – but an investment in healthier people, stronger communities and improved life opportunities across West Norfolk,” he said.
