Russell Martin on Rangers transfer recruits as Hamza Igamane set for Alloa chance
Russell Martin insists he has no problem with Andy Halliday‘s stinging assessment of his Rangers tactics.
Ex-Ibrox ace and current Motherwell midfielder Halliday made headlines earlier this week when gave a detailed breakdown of Martin’s set-up while appearing on the Open Goal podcast.
Halliday – who used to play in the same Gers team as the boss – even dug out a tactics board to highlight some of the issues that have left Martin ’s new-look Light Blues struggling to breakdown opposition this season.
The Ibrox boss revealed he had been in contact with the Fir Park ace to put him straight on one detail but was adamant they remain friends.
He said: “We’re cool. Everybody is entitled to their opinion.
“I like Andy, I regard him as a really good ex teammate and a person and I like him.
“I’m sure at some point we’ll have a coffee in the West End and we’ll sit down and discuss how he wants to coach at some point.

“When you work in the media you have to give an opinion, right?
“So I have absolutely no problem with it at all.
“Although I never said we’d play with inverted full-backs so I have told him that!”
