Inverness Crazy Golf is set to reopen tomorrow, after its beloved owner suddenly died last month.
54-year-old Gus MacDonald was a charity fundraiser, incorrigible joker, conversationalist and kind shoulder to many, but above all a loving husband to Emily, dad to Isla and Olivia and son to Bet and the late Angus.
Yesterday, hundreds gathered to pay their respects to him, as he was laid to rest.
Today, it was announced that the popular crazy golf destination will open on July 17.
In a social media post, his family said: “We are opening our gates tomorrow to welcome you all back. Initially our opening hours will be 10am-6pm.
“We ask for you all to bear with us as we do our best to navigate this time without the main man himself!
“Thank you for all your support, it is very much appreciated.”
Yesterday, celebrant Laura Gillespie of the Humanist Society Scotland relayed through loudspeakers from the funeral service, Gus was anything but ordinary.
“We know he was truly extraordinary,” she said.
“We rarely meet the likes of Gus in our ordinary lives: he was sunshine and light; he was a laugh, a kind word.
“Rarely in life do you meet a person who sprinkles that sort of magic wherever he goes; a person whose natural sense of fun and warmth is palpable.”
