The plans were put forward by Vivien Williams for the Four Winds Café on the A148 at Tattersett near Fakenham.
The site forms part of “an established roadside cluster” of businesses, also including a car wash and general store.
The 10m by 3m canopy will be supported by timber posts and run along the front of the business.

Planters are also being installed along the frontage, which are said to “define the seating area”.
Plans for the site also include a collection locker for online retailers, which is said to “reduce failed delivery attempts and unnecessary delivery movements”.
A design and access statement said the proposals “enhance an existing local facility” and “improve customer amenity and local service provision”.
The statement added that the development “supports an existing local service” and will not harm wider countryside character.
