If you fly airliners in Microsoft Flight Simulator, there’s a decent chance you run GSX too. And if you do, you know the ritual: the menu pops up mid-turnaround to ask which catering operator you want, which ground handler, which direction to push, whether you’re ready to start engines. It’s the price of admission for the most complete ground handling package in the sim. SayIntentions.AI thinks that price shouldn’t exist, and today it announced a feature that aims to remove it entirely.

The company has introduced AI Uplink for GSX, a conversational AI system that sits on top of FSDreamTeam’s ground services add-on and runs the whole ramp operation through voice. You talk to your ground crew the way you’d talk to ATC, in your own words, with no memorized phrases and no keyboard. GSX still does the physical work, the tug, the stairs, the catering truck and all the animations you see on the ramp, while SayIntentions provides the intelligence that interprets what you’re asking for and drives it.

This is the two biggest “companion ecosystem” products in MSFS being wired together. GSX just came off its biggest release ever with version 4.0.0 back in May, while SayIntentions has spent the past year expanding well beyond ATC, with RAAS runway alerts, an in-sim Flow Pro widget, and approach rewinds and a chart-reading co-pilot all landing in recent months.

“Not a voice remote”

SayIntentions is keen to draw a line between what it built and what it calls a macro. In the company’s words, this isn’t SayIntentions triggering GSX menus on a pilot’s behalf. The claim is that the system understands intent and acts as an agent. Brian, the company’s CEO, put it this way: “Anyone can fire a GSX menu command. That’s not the hard part, and it’s not what we built. The hard part is understanding a pilot who says ‘speed up boarding and finish it now’ and knowing what to actually do about it.”

The most tangible example of that difference is how it handles GSX’s own interruptions. Those mid-service questions I mentioned above, about operators, handlers, and pushback direction, are resolved by the AI without stopping you. Say “pushback nose left” and that choice flows directly into the GSX pushback sequence. The engine start confirmation at the end of pushback is handled without you touching anything.

The system also adapts mid-turnaround. Running late? Tell ground to finish boarding now. Changed your mind about catering? Cancel it while the truck is working. You can also ask for a status update at any point and get a rundown of everything active, waiting, or complete. Communication happens over a dedicated ramp frequency or the intercom, and your cabin crew coordinates boarding and de-boarding alongside you.

What it covers, with or without GSX

With GSX installed, the feature list covers the full turnaround: pushback, jetways, stairs, GPU, fueling, water, lavatory service, catering, cabin cleaning, boarding and de-boarding, and de-icing for winter operations. Your arrival gate is also auto-selected in GSX, and if you want a different stand, you request the change verbally instead of tapping around the map interface.

Notably, you don’t strictly need GSX at all. SayIntentions says a standalone version of Ground Services handles the essentials, pushback and jetways, right out of the box. For the full ramp experience, though, GSX remains the engine underneath.

For pilots who prefer tapping over talking, the feature is fully wired into PocketSky, the company’s mobile companion app, with a set of Ground Service Request buttons. Live progress indicators under each button, showing things like boarding percentage and fuel progress, are described as a fast-follow enhancement already in development.

Availability, and the usual partner-first rollout

AI Uplink for GSX is a pre-alpha feature today, available first to SayIntentions Partner Program members, with general availability for Premium subscribers to follow once, in the company’s words, it has held up under real-world flying. The Partner Program is open to any subscribed customer through a donation, which also gets you the Experimental server, a Discord partner role, and a vote on the roadmap.
