We’ve heard about all sorts of ways to access Xbox Cloud Gaming over the past few years — on your phone, on your TV, even in your car — but one thing we didn’t count on was the ability to play Xbox games on the PS Vita!

That’s now changed thanks to a new homebrew app called GreenVita, which first released a few days ago. There’s a YouTube Video (seen above) doing the rounds that suggests lag is an issue with it, but then we’ve found other YouTube videos where they claim the lag is non-existent. In any case, it’s proof that xCloud can work on the Vita!

Xbox cloud gaming is coming natively to the PS Vita via the Homebrew scene.

This thing gets more love than Sony could ever dream of. It’s a shame they discarded it so early in its life. https://t.co/F5pXpMINdz

Is it actually worth playing your Xbox games this way? Probably not for most people — it’s always going to be a smoother experience on official supported platforms such as mobile, PC, consoles, etc. — but it’s certainly a nice little novelty that dedicated PlayStation Vita fans might get a lot out of.

That said, we’re not clued up on the Vita homebrew scene and how it all works, so this is something you should only do at your own risk. If in doubt, stick to official platforms instead, but we’re certainly very impressed by this nonetheless!

Do you still use your PS Vita? How much do you play games with Xbox Cloud Gaming? Tell us below.
