The Crow Girl is the latest drama to air on Channel 5.
The acclaimed detective series, adapted from Erik Axl Sund’s bestselling Scandinavian novel, initially launched on Paramount+ in January 2025, receiving praise from viewers who hailed it a “masterpiece”.
The thriller has a star-studded cast list led by Welsh actress Eve Myles, who plays DCI Jeanette Kilburn. She is joined by her partner DI Lou Stanley, played by Dougray Scott, as they pursue a killer following the discovery of unidentified young men’s bodies across Bristol, beaten and containing the anaesthetic lidocaine.
Also starring in the drama is Coronation Street’s Katherine Kelly, Doctor Foster’s Victoria Hamilton, Lee Boardman, ChloĆ© Sweetlove, and Elliot Edusah. The complete cast list can be found here.

A synopsis reads: “When the bodies of unidentified young men start to show up around Bristol, beaten and full of the anaesthetic Lidocaine, police face mounting pressure and little evidence as they hunt the killer.

How many episodes of The Crow Girl are there?
There are six episodes in season one in total, with the first starting on Monday, July 20 at 9pm on Channel 5.
The first three episodes will then air consecutively this week, while the last three will air on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

While The Crow Girl series one airs on Channel 5 this week for those who haven’t seen it, in an unusual move, series two will launch on Paramount+ at exactly the same time. The second season comes 18 months after the first dropped on the streaming service.
The official synopsis for The Crow Girl season two reads: “As Jeanette digs deeper, Dr. Sophia Craven begins to suspect Victoria Burkeman, her mysterious former patient, could be responsible.
“As Jeanette and Sophia’s relationship becomes increasingly complex and emotionally charged, the case places their trust and judgement under strain.”
The Crow Girl starts on Channel 5 at 9pm on Monday, July 20.
