The pair clashed at PFL Austin, which was broadcast live on the talkSPORT Boxing YouTube channel, in what was Ali Walsh’s toughest test yet.

And so it proved for the American who found himself on the back foot from the very first claxon.

Ali Walsh was quickly taken down with Khizriev taking his back immediately and looking for an early night.

As he attempted to break the hold, he rolled into a rare version of the twister choke, coined and regularly used by MMA icon Stevie Ray.

“Congrats to my brother Gamid Khizriev, thank you for the experience, you have a promising future!

“On to the next and time to get better!

Ali Walsh had insisted before his career that he didn’t want to follow in the footsteps of his legendary grandfather Ali, who is widely viewed as the greatest boxer of all-time.

But nonetheless his exploits in the cage are likely to continue, but he may find a title push a challenge, despite his previous ambitions.
