Jason Statham has fully cemented himself as an action icon thanks to a number of performances in seminal thrillers over the course of decades. Admittedly, while most of these movies see the actor embracing slight variations of essentially the same character, it’s the stories themselves that help make his outings stand apart. While his character in The Beekeeper might not be entirely different from his character in The Meg, having him face off against fraudsters exploiting people for all their money is a stark contrast to his character having to face a megalodon.
Still, even if Statham himself has more than cemented his legacy in the world of action, it’s difficult to say what his defining movie is. It could be his work in the Fast and Furious series, or it could be his Transporter work, or it could be his The Mechanic. Better yet, it’s possible we still haven’t seen his defining action movie, and it could prove to be his upcoming Mutiny. A new poster for the movie seems to boast another impressive outing by channeling the spirit of Die Hard.
The all-new poster for Mutiny replicates the famous poster for Bruce Willis’ Die Hard. Given that most of his movies take themselves quite seriously, this new poster could tease a bit more of a sense of humor than what we’re used to getting.

Not only does the poster borrow the graphic design of the Die Hard poster, but it even replicates signature taglines. While the original movie claims, “40 Stories of Sheer Adventure!” this Mutiny poster promises, “20 Knots of Sheer Adventure!” The synopsis for Die Hard reads:
High above the city of L.A. a team of terrorists has seized a building, taken hostages, and declared war. One man has managed to escape… An off-duty cop hiding somewhere inside. He’s alone, tired… and the only chance anyone has got.
This new Mutiny poster, meanwhile, reads, “Deep in the Pacific Ocean human traffickers have seized the ship Artemis. One man has snuck aboard… A former cop hiding somewhere inside. He’s about to turn the tide.”
It’s not hyperbole to say that Die Hard is one of the best action movies of all time, if not the singular best action movie of all time. For any movie to even attempt to compare itself to that classic could be considered a gamble, given how hundreds of movies have fallen short of those expectations. However, if anyone has the on-screen abilities to follow in the footsteps of Willis, then it’s Statham. Luckily, this new poster is clearly a loving tribute to the original Die Hard as opposed to it claiming to be as good as that classic, so we can still temper our expectations.
