After having enjoyed a round of golf together earlier this week, tennis legend Roger Federer has returned to the Rafa Nadal Academy to visit the new Rafa Nadal Museum, the refurbished museum space that traces the life and career of Rafa Nadal through immersive experiences, audiovisual content, original artefacts and some of the most iconic moments of his career.
The former Swiss tennis player returned to the Academy’s premises a year after his last visit – and almost a decade after attending its official opening in October 2016 – although this time Rafa Nadal was unable to join him.
During his tour of the new Rafa Nadal Museum, he was accompanied by Sebastián Nadal, Gustavo Marcaccio, tennis director at the Rafa Nadal Academy, and Gonzalo Pérez, head of the Rafa Nadal Museum.
Federer lingered in particular in the room dedicated to the Big 3, one of the most iconic spaces on the new exhibition tour. There, visitors can discover personal items donated by Rafa Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, as well as enjoy exclusive audiovisual content in which the three stars reflect on their first-hand experience of one of the most extraordinary rivalries in sporting history and the legacy they built together over more than two decades.
After completing the tour, Federer highlighted the emotion conveyed by the new museum and the excellent work carried out during its refurbishment: “It’s marvellous to see it all. It’s beautiful. There’s a huge amount of work behind it, but above all, it’s very moving.”
Federer also recalled visiting the previous museum and highlighted the evolution it has undergone through this transformation: “I remember what it was like at the start, but now it’s truly spectacular. It’s beautiful; it’s really very well done. It’s a very special place. Congratulations to the whole team. I’ve already told them personally: you’ve done a fantastic job.”
Earlier this week, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal played golf together at Golf Santa Ponsa, which hosted the Mallorca Open on the DP World Tour in 2021. Nadal has been an avid golfer for years — starting even during the prime of his tennis career. Federer has taken it up more recently since his retirement from tennis in 2022.
The Swiss played a round with Carlos Alcaraz earlier this year in Melbourne during the Australian Open. Alcaraz also golfed frequently during the 2025 Wimbledon Championships with Andy Murray, who has expressed a desire to hit the links with his former tennis rivals — Federer, Nadal, and Novak Djokovic.
