Eighteen artists have removed colour from their work, concentrating instead on form and contrast, light and dark, negativity and positivity.

Gallery owner Joanne Tinker said: “You may feel this colourless world would be monotonous or drab…on the contrary this exhibition is full of shape, elegance and breathtaking creative skills. This monochrome palette covers a wide range of work from all around the UK, including painting, textiles, printmaking, sculpture, jewellery and ceramics.

“We have some wonderful art pieces for sale from established artists who have exhibited in some very prestigious galleries around the UK including the Royal Academy.’”

Tinker Gallery, at 25, Church Street, Ilkley, is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
The ‘Black, White & Grey’ exhibition opened on July 23 and will run until the end of August.
