Mutiny sees Statham joins forces with the director behind 2023’s acclaimed Gerard Butler-led action outing Plane, Jean-François Richet, who takes the helm of this high-octane revenge action thriller. The plot begins when, after witnessing his billionaire boss’ murder and being framed for the crime, Cole Reed (Statham) boards a cargo ship on a one-man crusade to avenge his boss’ death, only to discover an international conspiracy.

Davis, Mutiny unites several major action powerhouses, with Jason Statham both taking the lead and producing through his company Punch Palace Productions (The Beekeeper, A Working Man, The Expendables 4), alongside Marc Butan of MadRiver Pictures (The Trial of the Chicago 7, Ad Astra, Plane).
After recent action thriller hits The Beekeeper, A Working Man, and Shelter, the latter of which flopped at the box office but has since become another streaming smash hit for the actor, Mutiny promises to deliver what could be one of the best efforts from the genre icon we call The Stath. Putting the action star at the center of a criminal conspiracy, surrounding him with vile bad guys, and setting it in an unescapable location can only be a recipe for greatness. And we don’t have to wait long to embark on the choppy adventure, as Mutiny is due to premiere in US and UK cinemas on 21 August and on Sky Cinema in the UK later this year.
Jason Statham continues to demonstrate his particular set of skills, but will add a few twists along the way with several of his upcoming projects. Alongside Mutiny, Statham is all set to join forces with Nobody 2 and The Shadow Strays director Timo Tjahjanto for The Beekeeper 2, which is due for release on January 15, 2027, with Statham also set to reunite with Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels director Guy Ritchie and star Vinnie Jones for Viva La Madness, and will also play a version of himself for John Wick director David Leitch in Jason Statham Stole My Bike, which is now set for release on August 6, 2027.
