Wakefield Trinity boss Daryl Powell has revealed that out-of-favour full-back, Max Jowitt, “has a chance” of returning to the 17 this week against Castleford Tigers.
Jowitt has missed the last three games, with his last appearance coming in the narrow win over Huddersfield Giants before Magic Weekend.
Josh Rourke was the hero that day, and since then the number one role has been his, with the boss seemingly favouring the former London Broncos man.
However, Powell has hinted that the homegrown talent, who is in a testimonial year, could be on the brink of a return.
“I’m not going to say too much, I’ll leave that until the game, until tomorrow, but there’s a chance Max plays,” Powell said to the press today.
Personnel changes are said to be kept to a minimum by Powell this week, but one potential returnee is Corey Hall, who missed last week’s side having been named for the first time since a knee injury almost two months ago. Trinity are waiting to see how he pulls up in training before making a decision on him.

In further news, Ky Rodwell was named in the 21-man squad last week but missed the final 17, with Powell opting to use Tray Lolesio instead. The Australian was left out purely on selection, and could return to face the Tigers.
It was initially stated that Jack Sinfield would miss two games due to delayed concussion protocols. The former Leeds man will now miss a third game, after those problems haven’t quite cleared as quickly as the club would have hoped.
Powell said: “Jack should be fit next week, he’s just coming out of the other side of that [return to play] now.”
Oli Pratt and Mason Lino are both another two to three weeks away, with Pratt having a positive scan earlier this week.
