The owner of a new 24-hour golf fitness and practice facility that’s just opened near Glasgow has revealed what golf fans can expect.
Founder of PGP Studio, Steven Lannon, says it’s Scotland’s first and offers a “top notch training facility” that caters to all the requirements for getting better at golf.
The venue, which has just opened in Colvilles Park in East Kilbride, is a great way for golfers who want to practice at any time of the day or night.
Steven said: “The idea came to me last year when I was preparing for my club championship. I wanted to go somewhere to practice, so that I could also figure out the distances I hit each club.

“Driving ranges have the same technology, but you can’t use your own balls, so the data is incorrect. I then started looking for places in central Scotland, and there wasn’t much on offer.

“I saw a gap; the whole idea is being somewhere you can warm up before a round of golf. Gym for stretching, hitting net for loosening up your swing, and putting areas to practise before your round.”
The keen golfer added that the idea of the facility being 24 hours came from the fact that a lot of people have young children, and that it can be difficult to find 3-4 hours to go and play a round of golf.
He said: “Our facility allows access at any time and you can play 18 holes with two people in just over an hour. This was designed as a performance centre using the latest technology to help golfers make more informed decisions around their game.
“We have spared no expense in this facility. The overall aesthetic is aimed at providing a feeling of training like a tour professional.”
When it comes to improving your game, Steven added that the facility uses exactly the same golf ball tracking technology used by the tour pros.
He stated: “We are teaming up with golf teaching pros, sport physio and PTs all linked specifically to golf to give you the best environment to get better.”
