The 51-year-old who lives near Banbury was relieved of his Red Bull team principal role last month after 20 years of service.
Early in July, a statement from Red Bull GmbH read: “Red Bull has released Christian Horner from his operational duties with effect from today (Wednesday, July 9) and has appointed Laurent Mekies as CEO of Red Bull Racing.”
Mr Horner had been team principal at Red Bull since 2005, overseeing eight drivers’ world championships and six constructors’ titles.

He led them to world championship success with drivers Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen in a period which included eight drivers’ championships and six constructors’ championships.
The Formula 1 star resides in a £9.2m mansion with his wife, Geri Halliwell-Horner, on the Oxfordshire border with Northamptonshire.
Now his rival over at Mercedes, Toto Wolff, has spoken about missing Mr Horner and called him an “a***hole” in the process.
In an interview with Channel 4, Mr Wolff said: “In a way, I do [miss him] because he and I, we’ve been fighting for 12 years.

“He’s been an a**hole very often, and I told him that.
“But you know, he was a very polarising, controversial person. He was one of the main actors in the cast here.
“The performances and the track record speaks for himself and the team.”
Mr Wolff said he misses Mr Horner due to his presence and success around the racing circuit.
He added: “Him not being here, it’s almost one of the old dinosaurs gone.
“There’s not many left from us team principals. So it feels a bit lonely.”
