The name of the third instalment in the Kingdom Come series appears to have leaked before any official announcement thanks to a freshly filed trademark.
As reported by The Phrasemaker, a trademark has been discovered on the website for the European Union Intellectual Property Office. The owner of the trademark is listed as Warhorse Studios, developer of the previous two games.
The name listed on the trademark application is Kingdom Come Salvation.
Some text within the listing could theoretically suggest multiplayer of some form; the game is described as “entertainment services for matching users with computer games.”
We already knew that Warhorse is busy with two open world RPGs right now: one is a Lord of the Rings game, while the other is a Kingdom Come title. Now we know what the latter will be called.
Given the trademark has emerged within touching distance of Gamescom, I suspect this game may be announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live. That’s just a guess, but I don’t think it’s much of a stretch.
Even if it doesn’t show up there, Warhorse has said the aim is to release this game within the next fiscal year, so it’s not far off either way.
