Young won The Players Championship back in March, and followed that up with a runaway victory at the Cadillac Championship.
The 29-year-old came ever so close to winning The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale two weeks ago, missing out on a playoff by just one stroke.
Cam Young has a great shot at winning the PGA Tour Player of the Year, but he will have to finish the season strongly, with Scottie Scheffler and Matt Fitzpatrick in the race as well.

A win this week at the Rocket Classic would put Cam Young in a great position heading into the playoffs.
However, is Young still reeling from narrowly missing out at The Open?
Ryan Fox birdied the final hole at Royal Birkdale nine days ago to win The Open, beating Young by just one stroke.
Young is still searching for his first major championship, and The Open was the closest he has come to winning one yet.
He spoke about his near miss at Birkdale ahead of the Rocket Classic in Detroit this week.

“Yeah, it was a good week,“ Young admitted.
“I mean, I kind of just fell victim to golf on Saturday really was what ended up being the difference. I played well and just wasn’t able to get the ball in the hole. I hit a lot of really good shots to 25, 30 feet, which you just don’t make many of those and that’s kind of what happened on Saturday.

“Played great on Sunday. I was proud of the fact that I kept myself in it and gave myself a chance even though I was battling some stuff on Saturday.
“Yeah, a great week. I mean, I would have loved to have put together four major finishes. I had a real chance to win two, so I feel like left something to be desired. But at the same time I put myself in position a couple times and that’s the main thing you can ask for. If you’re in position, anything can happen.
“Ryan Fox played a great last five holes, six holes. It was looking pretty good there for a minute and he made some putts down the stretch. That’s kind of how it goes. But I was in a position where the overwhelming likelihood on the last hole is I was going to be in a playoff at worst, and he hit three amazing shots so that kind of is what it is. If I’m anybody but me, that’s a lot of fun to watch. I was obviously hoping for a different outcome.
“Not rooting against the guy, but yeah, I was close and I was happy to put myself there.“
Cam Young’s PGA Tour stats in 2026
Young’s all-round game has been extremely solid so far in 2026.
He is ranked 10th in strokes gained total, 12th in strokes gained off the tee and 24th in strokes gained approach.
Young is ranked 10th in scrambling and 34th in strokes gained around the green.
Putting is the only statistical category in which Young has been below average this season.
The 29-year-old New Yorker actually began the season in fine form on the greens, but has struggled over the past couple of months, and is now ranked well down in 89th in strokes gained putting.
If Cam Young has a hot week on the greens at the Rocket Classic, he will have a great chance of entering the PGA Tour playoffs as a three-time winner in 2026.
