UK supermarket chain Morrisons has announced the roll out of Caper smart trolleys at its supermarket in Preston. Morrisons becomes the first UK retailer to deploy the smart trolleys from North American grocery technology company Instacart. The AI-powered smart trolleys automatically recognise products as they are put in the trolley, even weighing fresh produce. This allows customers to bag their shopping as they go, making checkout easier.
