EsDeeKid has announced a huge new tour that will see him put on shows across America and Europe. The anonymous, balaclava-wearing Scouse rapper from Liverpool who broke out with viral underground hits like “LV Sandals” and his debut mixtape Rebel, earning a Brit Award nomination, will start his Council House Rat tour in September, before bringing it back home to Liverpool later in the year.
He is set to kick off the tour on September 12 at The Fillmore in Charlotte, North Carolina, before the 48-date tour moves across the United States and then ventures to Europe.
Closing the tour, EsDeeKid will play back to back nights at Liverpool’s Blackstone Street Warehouse on December 10 and 11.
Sharing the exciting news on Instagram, Blackstone Warehouse said: “From a council house in Liverpool to 50 dates across America and Europe, the Council House Rat Tour marks the next chapter for @esdeekid.
“What started close to home has grown into something much bigger, while still carrying the same sound, character and energy that made people take notice from the start.”
Tickets go on general sale this Friday (July 31) at 10am.
The mystery behind the rapper’s identity has only added to his fame, as EsDeeKid’s songs have been a huge success with Phantom, featuring Rico Ace, and 4 Raws wracking up millions of listens. At one point, fans believed EsDeeKid was Timothée Chalamet, with the actor feeding into the hype.
He previously sent fans into a frenzy as he addressed the rumours after being heavily linked to being behind the balaclava of the mystery musician. The ECHO previously reported how fans were convinced Timothée was the rapper as the close up on his eyes bears a striking resemblance to the Dune star.
The actor previously appeared on Heart Radio ahead of the release of his new film, Marty Supreme, when he was quizzed on the viral rapper. The 29-year-old is a hip-hop lover and used to rap under the name of Lil Timmy Tim.
He confirmed he was aware of EsDeeKid’s work as Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston asked him if he is indeed the Liverpudlian artist.
Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda said: “Your fans have lost their minds and they are saying that you are EsDeeKid?” The A Complete Unknown star fuelled the rumours as he refused to deny he is the mystery Scouser.
He said: “I’ve got no comment on that.” Timothée followed it up as he said: “I got two words on that…” However, it was more than two words as he said people need to wait and see, as he added: “All will be revealed in due time.”
The post of their conversation was liked thousands of times, including by Scouse superstar actor, Jodie Comer. What eventually happened was EsDeeKid released their song 4 Raws, with Timothée featured on it.
