Contracts have been signed with a construction firm to build a new hospital for Milton Keynes.
As part of the government’s New Hospital Programme, called “Hospital 2.0”, Morgan Sindall Construction has been named as the company behind the work at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (MKUH).
Joe Harrison, the hospital’s chief executive officer, said it was “vital that we continue to invest in our hospital to ensure we can meet the needs of our communities both now and in the future”.
The trust previously said the work could start in 2027 and the hospital could open by 2030. The building will house maternity and children’s services as well as surgical beds.
